How to Maximize the Ice Retention of Your RovR RollR Wheeled Cooler
Rovr Coolers with the longest ice retention
Ice retention is both an art and a science. Following best practices will give you days of ice.
1. A Warm Cooler Holds Heat as well as it Holds Ice: Longest Ice Retention
If you are looking for multi-day ice retention, you are going to want to pre-chill your cooler by adding two bags of ice the night before you want to fill your cooler for your trip. Empty the old ice, add your contents in layers of contents and new ice for best results.
2. Don’t Add Warm Beer or Contents:
A common mistake is to add warm beer or foods that are going to waste your ice. The colder you put in your contents, the less they will melt your ice. Freezing foods or drinks will increase your ice retention dramatically. Bottled water, pasta sauces and other things can even be safely frozen (as long as they are not in glass containers) should be frozen before they’re added to the cooler.
3. Block Ice vs. Cubed Ice
Cubed ice melt much more quickly than block ice. The RovR RollR wheeled cooler is designed with plenty of space to accommodate block ice plus a bevy of beverages and maximize, longest ice retention. Cubed ice, or bagged ice, can very effective as well, and can last up to ten days in proper conditions. Finding a combination of the two can helpful if you need your goods to be cold for extreme extended days.
4. Keep Your Cooler as Full as Possible
No matter how cold your ice and goods are, the air inside your cooler will be just a little bit warmer. The more you can eliminate that air, the longer your RovR RollR will remain ice cold. Keep it packed, ideally with ice, but other flexible and lightweight materials can used to fill in the empty spaces, as well.
5. Hold Off on Draining
The water that gathers as ice melts will be nearly as cold as the ice and will do a substantial amount to keep the air in your RovR RollR cold. It also separates the unmelted ice from the slightly warmer air.
6. Limit Exposure
Finally, while in use the RovR RollR coolest cooler should be placed out of direct sunlight and away from the warmest spots wherever you are using it. High external temperatures will warm the cooler’s walls and insulation while it’s in use just as when it’s stored, though much less quickly with the cooler properly cooled and filled. Also be economical about opening the cooler to retrieve goods, leaving the cold air inside and the warm air outside. Be sure to collect everything you’ll need each time you open the cooler, and return everything in one lift, as well.
Following the simple steps above will maximize or longest ice retention. Ensure that you are using the most convenient and versatile cooler on the market today, getting the most out of it. Enjoy!
